No Quick-Fix Coaches, Please

I just want to offer this thought. If Les Miles goes to UM (anything can happen) I hear the drums beating for Spurrier and TT in particular, as well as for Nick Saban.
Please Tigers, no quick fixes. The first two have made their names -- maybe TT has something left, but I don't see them coming to LSU and being anything but caretakers who will maintain but not build on what's already here. And Saban would be like Dietzel, had he returned at the fans' constant whims back in the '60s, a lame duck. I doubt if he would be able to repeat the formula of the past; too much water under the bridge since then.
IMO, what LSU needs is a coach whose glory days are still before him, someone who will be delighted to be at LSU, who understands football is evolving, and who will pour himself into building an LSU team that competes in the big time every year, and for years to come.
BTW: To not be misunderstood, IMO except for his passion for UM, I think Les Miles could still be that coach at LSU. But, the UM question hangs over both the Tiger and Wolverine Nations like a big raincloud. Answers coming soon, I think.

LSU doesn't need to be fixed and we have the coach you are describing here already. Hopefully, he'll stay.

I presume you must have a name in mind? Because, I gotta tell you, you're putting an awful lot of conditions on this thing. Finding the person you propose is going to be a lot easier said than done.

LSU doesn't need to build...we have had the best talent in the country the last 2 seasons....we just need to win big games...and it will contiune...

USC has better talent overall. They lose to Stanford and you don't see there fans hoping Carroll leaves.

That's because Carroll has already won a CHAMPIONSHIP of some kind there. It's put up or shut up time for Les on Saturday.

After blowing off lots of steam since Friday, the only one I really want to leave is Pelini. I'm not sure he "gets" the SEC or that he's ever been passionate about LSU. Say what you want about Les Miles, I really think the man does care about LSU. It's just UM is his alma mater and nobody can blame him for feeling that attraction. Pelini is another story.

Well,we have had ONE of the most talented teams,but this stuff about 'the most' is a stretch,IMO.

Those who throw this around like fact also use this unproveable claim as a verbal rabbit's foot for luck before games, and a 2x4 to beat coaches over the heads with if we lose or don't win in a blowout.
