Reading between the lines here, it looks like an offer has been made "unofficially" and the ball is in Stoops court.

We did get additional confirmation that there has been at least one discussion between Auburn and Stoops about the opening at defensive coordinator. However, Stoops did not agree to anything and specifics in terms of salary or his responsibilities were not even discussed.
Heard from two sources close to Stoops today that he is happy at FSU and has no intentions on leaving. We've also confirmed that as of this afternoon he was still actively recruiting for FSU.
At this stage any reports that Mark Stoops has accepted a position at Auburn are premature at best. He hasn't accepted anything. Not saying it's 100% impossible in the near future but it hasn't happened it seems unlikely.
We'll update this as more information comes our way.

Agreed. It looks like Stoops has had enough interest that we believe he will take the job (honestly they have probably both agreed on terms), but they don't want it to be official yet. At least I hope so.

I also believe that he has unofficially accepted, still there are i's to dot and t's to cross... Also, FSU may counter.... It is not done until done...
