that is the new name being mentioned. It makes sense in a way, carrol is a defensive minded coach. He may be wanting to get out from under his shadow ala muschamp/saban. Maybe he see's this as the best chance to get a head coaching gig in the future.

Miles was on the west coast, supposedly taking to hicks/welker. But maybe he paid holt a visit as well?

Even though he is a d-line coach, that would free up malveto to thier old postions and remain on staff.

also put orgeron back with his former colleague. it has been said recruiting is a top priority with who ever comes on.

holt + orgeron would be unbelievable.

Prolly a pipe dream though.

but ya never know with miles. If he can pull this off, people will change thier tune real quick with the bs thats been flowing.

It says in his wiki bio:

quote:

Deciding to make a move before his children entered high school, Holt resigned from Idaho on February 6, 2006 to take a position with the Rams.

I'm assuming his kids started high school sometime in 2007 or 2008...so if that was a factor then, I'm sure it's a factor now. If that is true, I doubt he'd want to move his family after they just got settled in.

Interesting. But will his dad, Lou Ferrigno, let him come coach at LSU?

I don't think there would be many objections to this hire, but does this rumor have anything behind it? Chavis and Robisnon appear to the most likely of the canidates left.

I was thinking about that as I was typing, but I am unsure if Tenuta is just a messege board favorite, or if Miles really has spoken to him? Anybody know if Miles has spoken to him about the job?

belowpar knows his stuff. I would definitly believe whatever he has to say. So, that's three good DC choices right there.

He's a quiter. Gave up on Idaho (though many would as well) and traded up for the Rams. If we bring him in don't be surprised if he tries to leave in 2 years for a HC gig. I'd rather have someone who will give some stability 5-8 years or so.
