Yep, and the first de-commit has just happened, at least tentatively.

Rattay and Edwards were Joe Peace's recruits, I believe.
Wrong. Crowton recruited and signed both of them. Edwards was in fact a RB and Crowton moved him to WR. Crowton sucks enough without attempting to remove all points of success from his past record.

Well, to give Crowton a few more points, Bicknell did win quite a few games with Crowton's recruits too actually... To think we used to own Boise back then and were WAC champions...

Yea, it would be interesting to see how LA Tech would have fared had Crowton stayed for more than a couple of years. Start with a bang, end with a whimper?

If Crowton would've had some defense to go with that offense at the time, we could've really kicked some arse. That was one of the most prolific passing attacks in college football history.

Currently, it looks like the candidates are:
Malzahn (Auburn OC)
Monken (Jaguars WRC)
Applewhite (Texas RBC)
Dykes (Arizona OC)
There are more guys applying for the job, to my knowledge, but this is probably the top of the list. Also, screw Auburn fans because they don't know what they're talking about. Malzahn IS a candidate, whether they like it or not.

Tech doesnt need to get a Assistant they need to get a HC that has run a show and knows whats going on. This is a make or break hire. Viator more I think about it is the hire, he has LA ties, he can coach and teach, has success, and finally he show the people of Ruston that he can build and maintain.

I actually would love to see them hire Don Shows.
Yeah, apparently you dont remember his semi-pro coaching stint in the 90s. It wasnt pretty. Tech knows better than to go that route.

We really do not care. He is a wishlist candidate for La Tech and the interest in one-sided. He will be at AU next year no matter what La Tech says or offers.
If you do not believe me, just wait and see if he even accepts an interview with La Tech.

Say it all you want, Aubie, but we said the same thing about Dooley.
That being said, I'd wager that Terry Bowden is probably the leading candidate as of right now. I think I'd like that hire.

Terry Bowden would likely be a good hire IMO. He will produce results fast and will just need some assistants that can recruit well to compliment him.

Terry Bowden kinda fits what I think we'd need in Ruston now, and isn't as likely to bolt immediately. He can bring in his brother if he wants, and whoever else, but keep Frank Scelfo on for one more year, so we don't lose our recruits, and to see if it was really Scelfo's or Dooley's fault our offense was so bad these past 3 years. Something tells me Dooley had a lot to do with it.

Our offense was always good under Bowden. The defense got progressively worse as the talent dropped, so a good D-cordinator and recruiter is key with him.

I was reading in the Monroe News Star (today's) that Dennis Dunn is interested. He's done ok at Louisiana College. Evidently that deal with him and the underaged girl while he was at Evangel has sort of died off.

Yeah, he's thrown his hat in the ring, but I seriously doubt our administration will hire him. It looks like they're going for someone else with a popular last name and/or from the BCS. That's no personal knock against him though. I hope it works out, whatever they do.

Which of the candidates has Jimmy Sexton for an agent. His boys have gotten half the new jobs.

I guess a good recruiting coordinator is needed as well?

I do believe it will be Terry Bowden. Tech wants a big name and he has one.
