Napier is the ultimate Jay Johnson in this FB coaching search. Younger, some extended initial success, process-oriented, knows the sport and how to teach it. There’s nothing not to like about Napier other than this asinine, arbitrary “requirement” of prior P5 experience.
Lincoln was an OC at G5 ÉCU before coming to OU for a year or two as OC before ascending to replace Stoops. His lack of P5 HC success was not an issue for OU and such arbitrary measures should not preclude any decision based upon best available coach on the market.
