My defensive wish list

Should Matt House get canned, this is what I would love to see:
DC/db - Blake Baker - should be easy sell
DL - Dennis Johnson
LB- Kelvin Sheppard - would he leave NFL?
DB/Safeties - Pat Surtain Sr.
This would be a great staff IMO

From NFL LB coach to college LB coach? I'd think that's a step down - in money, prestige, etc.

Good questions. Blake Baker can coach db’s he is currently doing it now I believe.
Sheppard is making roughly 350k/yr. College linebacker coaches make more.
As for Surtain, he is from here and is a great coach

I would still take Chevis Jackson over Baker as DB Coach.

Again, I would go after Chevis Jackson first. He is a hell of a coach and more importantly, he is more realistic.

Come on people. This is a top 5 program and we can get just about anyone we want and have the money to do so. We have a great proven HC, talent rich state (especially on defense), elite offense, pay top dollar, ability to make their name even bigger, championship ability, best fans and stadium!
We should have proven coaches here and have the ability to steal the best programs coaches. Go get the best of the best.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, there is a company out there who has 10 years of analytics for every coach in all levels of football. NFL, power 5, group of 5, FCS, JUCO and HS. Hire the darn guy and let’s go get an entire defensive staff from his list of people. At least get the list and start making phone calls, bring them in and do your evals from the analytics and personal conversations.
The programs who have hired him, have turned their programs around. I’d hire him just for the decade of information. It’s not easy to get that info. Someone with LSU connections should connect our coaches to this guy and see what happens.

Call every one of these guys, get them here for an interview and hire the best fit. Let that guy give you a list of his preferred assistants and get all the analytics you possibly can on that list and the list you had in mind, according to their analytics history.
Again, there’s an analytics guy out there who’s done 10 years of research on all these coaches. Pick your best 5 from that list and compare it to his. Get together with him and see what he thinks of your list. Together y'all choose the best 5 from each list. Start calling them and bring them in for their interviews. Choose the best candidates. That’s how I’d do it. Seems reasonable to me. Could have it done in a week.

Now send this message to Frank Wilson so he can get it to Brian Kelly and let’s get this shite fixed ASAP! This is LSU, the purple pussy eaters and we should have plenty to eat. Right now we the ones getting ate up! That needs to change. Louisiana is full of defensive talent and we should be signing the best in this state and regionally.
We have Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, the Carolina's, Tennessee and Missouri right here and there’s no way we can’t fill an elite defensive roster from these states. Do exactly what we did for the OL and at WR for the DL and DB’s. I’m tired of hearing the NIL excuse. We have a great OL coach who knows how to communicate with these OL recruits and that’s why we land those guys. So go get the same caliber of coach for the defense overall, the DL, the DB’s and LB’s. Do these things and we’ll create history at LSU and we’ll be in the playoffs every year.
