I'm laughing at Texas if this is true. Florida is kicking them while they're down. Muschamp was the coaching staff's strongest link and his departure could affect their bad arse 2011 recruiting class.

big reach for UF if true

I agree. That's why we Miles fans think you haters should be careful what you wish for. I don't think anybody would argue that Florida isn't a better HC gig than LSU, and they just hired a guy who has been the head coach for all of zero games.

btw, I wasn't convinced Mullen was a slam dunk either. They had a nice little season at MSU this year, but he comes off to me as a little squirelly. He's got nowhere near the charisma of Urban, and I think their recruiting would have eventually suffered.

Wow. What a middle of the road hire for Florida. I would have thought they would have went with a proven head coiach rather than a coordinator, regardless of Muschamps title at Texas. If I were a UF fan, I wouldn't be happy at all.

we spent about 10 minutes talking about the florida job this morning on our show and muschamp came up sfter about 9 minutes and was dismissed because we didn't think Florida would settle for someone with no HC experience coming off a bad year. Very surprised by this move.

If he was good enough to be "Head Coach In-Waiting" at UT, arguably the best job in college football, then what makes him such a poor hire?

Maybe so. But from inside the state of Florida, look at the dynamic - Muschamp (LSU coaching alum) is HC of the Gators, and Jimbo Fisher (LSU coaching alum) is HC of the Seminoles. Boy, will that rivalry heat up now!
