STARKVILLE — The University of Miami may be interested in Dan Mullen if Jon Gruden passes on the Hurricanes’ overtures today, according to reports.

quote:

If Gruden does not take the job, UM is expected to ask for permission to speak with Mullen, a former Florida Gators offensive coordinator, plus several others. Mullen, 38, took over a Mississippi State team that went 4-8 in 2008. He went 5-7 in his first season but is 8-4 this season.

He is as good as gone. IMO

It was good while it lasted.

Mullen is like the hot chick you met and messed around with for a while, and she left you for some rich guy. But you still have the chance to say, YEAH I used to date her.

I just saw where Donald Trump wants Miami to hire Mike Leach.

trump is good friends with Leach, but he wont even get an interview this time around.

Mullen is second choice though

We can't afford to pay him the 3.4 million that they offered Chucky

Well I hope state can keep him. I think its better for the conference also.
Personally, I've always liked state and I'd like for them to continue kicking OM's butt.

On the bright side, I think y'all would be in play for GM. Probably would be a smooth transition also, due to coaching similarities.

If I were the AD at Miami for the day, Mullen is the guy I would go after.
