Woodward didn’t get played. We did. Riley’s agent created smoke by creating and leaking interest from LSU. That “insider” info made its way through both the OU and LSU boards. It was a ploy to hide the real threat to OU, USC.

Meanwhile, Woodward was working on his guy (possibly really having him locked up, but the LSU “insiders” misconstrued the signs to be for Riley instead of the real target), set up a tentative announcement presser for today in the event the actual target doesn’t make their CCG, with a plan to move it if he does.

Woodward has been very quiet about his search. But, Shea and a few others have said for days that it wasn’t Riley. Very few of us wanted to believe that because we fell for the smoke from Riley’s camp. But, it’s all very logical. If this is all true, we will likely have a new coach announced next Sunday or Monday. That still gives us a few days to reel in our recruits before ESD.
