If we interview a minority candidate, who would be some legitimate candidates. I think we should and not just to appease the Black Coach's Association but because of the positive press the university would gain, the possible recruiting benefits throughout the South, and it is flat out the right thing to do. I would like to interview Croom and also a younger black candidate but can't think of any that wouldn't be a roll of the dice like an assistant from the NFL or a major college.

Would never do it. At least I hope not. I have to much respect for him. He is not a token interview.

I have always posted that I wished we would go after Pete to come over as an asst coach, but now with his new contract, that will never happen. Like you, I have tons of respect for the man and the job he has done at Southern.

Personally, I won't be comforted until at least one Native American candidate passes through the LSU AD office.

Now let's get a list of candidates started.

Lovie Smith. Did they ever get him a new deal in chicago? Go to the super bowl and still remain the lowest paid coach in the league.

Does it really matter one way or another if they don't interview a minority? I mean for all the ppl talking about "ND caught hell for firing Ty", did it stop Weis from getting black players?

I think it's sad that people care about race in interviewing. Just interview the best guys for the job. As a matter of fact why aren't we interviewing any women? Pat Summit anyone?
