Has Les Miles given his recommendation for the next Michigan head coach? He did a great job helping them find Brady Hoke for the last hire.

nobody was going to stop them from hiring brady hoke 3 years ago

here's no arguing with someone who would shite on a NC because he hates the coach. someone with that mentality only deserves gifs and one-liners

You said that the '03 title was gift-wrapped for us just like the '07 title was, and that is clearly bullshite. Nobody who watched each season can truthfully say what you said. You are twisting the truth to defend Miles, and everybody knows it.

I don't hate the coach, I just don't like his style of football, so I'm not going to pretend to be happy that he's the coach for 15 years. Don't cast aspersions. Stop viewing yourself on this board as part of some team that needs to "win" the argument over Miles. There is room for discussion and disagreement about him and what he's done at LSU. Be an honest person. You can do it!

yes, he wasn't offered the job in 2010. I thought this was pretty well known?

You will get arguments from a lot of Les Miles fans that believe he keeps giving Michigan "the heisman". They claim he has turned them down 3 times. I mean, how could Michigan not possibly want the man with a 50% win percentage when trailing in the 4th quarter?

well he's definitely turned them down at least once, in 2007.

when the smoke clears around the end of this month, we'll see if he turned them down twice.

I'm not buying it. Les Miles had zero skins on the wall at the time of "Herbie-gate". Les was in year 3 at LSU and as of that morning, had not even won a SEC title with LSU. Belowpar was adamant on here that Les Miles had his new deal with LSU signed on the Friday night before the SEC championship game, about 12 hours before Herbie's announcement. Lloyd Carr was not going to let Les Miles be his successor.

I'm more likely to believe he turned them down in 2010 than I am to believe 2007.

Why does a NC coach/team have to be defended??? I mean it's not like either team didn't have to win the SECCG and then beat the #1 team in the nation...right.

I just don't like his style of football

While that's your right, the Miles "style of football" has given you and me the very most successful 10 yrs of continual success under one coach in 120 yrs. of LSU football.

If the very best can't even make you "happy", what in the hell ever could? Happy is a pretty easy emotion to reach.

Saban and Miles have given me the greatest period of joy as a LSU football fan that I have ever known. Nothing and I mean nothing comes close to the national and SEC success of the last 15 yrs of LSU football. Are there peaks and valleys? Of course, but what relevant college program hasn't experienced the same or much worse in the last 15 yrs?

I don't know, but if you cant be even "happy" with the last 10-15 yrs of LSU football I have to wonder what LSU program/coach you followed in the last 50 yrs that did make you "happy".

Nope

I have linked multiple times the article where Miles' agent was quoted as saying there was no contact from Michigan prior to him telling Miles the LSU offer was too good to pass on. He even called the UM AD twice prior to signing the new contract, but he didnt return either call.

Great response. I don't get some of the people on here. It is like they are miserable people and only happy when things go bad.

10 years is a long time. How about we look at it first as a whole.. and then we can examine how he started, how he maintained, and where we are now.

Glad LSU got that 2007 title but let's not act like it wasn't gift wrapped for us. yeah...OSU just laid down and let us win that game. FYI...you could say the same thing about the '03 title
in 03 saban didn't blow it twice like miles did in 07, losing his last regular season game for his 2nd loss & still got to the title game. lsu was on fire at the end of 03, in 07 they was not.

let me clarify then since some people have trouble understanding context....it won't happen while Miles is here.

So what will be your excuse when LSU has the same or worse record next year.

I understand how someone could feel this way about saban. I personally don't care for the man {never really have} and have no respect for him at all. But that's just me .

anyone in the country would have won in 2007 with the stacked roster saban left. same reason chizik and coker have titles as well.

VERY well said. This X 1,000. The minions and sycophants on here who shill for Miles are extremeley transparent if you just take a good hard look at them. You certainly acknowledge the red herrings and false claims they continue to make.
