Does this person work in the same building or the same office? There is a difference.

I dont know if its the exact same office or not but it is the same floor. take it for what you want but I believe this guy he talks to Bass quite regularly.

We had better find some dough. Just look around us: Texas, Okla., Alabama, Florida, maybe even Arkansas.
I don't like having to pay these coaches this kind of money but if you don't then look out.

According to a source in Dallas that works in the same office with Miles agent, they had a great meeting this week and will get close to 3.5 million next year. Miles stays!
Wrong, Miles leaves. However, he's smart enough to know that if his current employer, LSU is willing to pony up more money for him to stay, it's silly not to get an offer in writing, hold it, then negotiate with the school for the job you really want. If it only equals a couple of million dollars extra over 5 years, your agent has just got your new employer (remember, dream job) to pay for his services to that you don't have to.
Brilliant!

Smarter would have been:
Skip: "Les, Bill Martin just called me and asked if he could have permission to speak with you. You know that we have spoken about this, but now is crunch time. You won't have to do a thing. If you want the job, just say so, I'll give him the okay, and you coach the SEC-CG then resign. I'll waive the buyout and you can go into your negotiations unfettered by any sense of loyalty to us (you've certainly done well for us). However, if you've been dancing around so that you don't want to embarass Michigan, I completely understand that. I'll be the bad guy and say, 'No, it's our policy to not allow head coaches to negotiate with other schools until the last year of their contract, which Les won't hit for nearly two years. Sorry.', and that'll be that. I'll be the bad guy, and you can have a press conference and wax philosophical about the timing, your respect for them, and you can even use my name and say, 'Boss man Skip says no, so what can I do?' What do you say?"
