Mike Archer - DC for 2009?

Don't laugh...don't bash...don't hate.
The guy gets bad rep because he was a 34 year old head coach who tanked at LSU. Let me tell you, though...he coached the hell out of some defenses. If you get him athletes, he will make something of them. He's had shitty jobs at UK and now NCSt. What could he do with a real program with a talent pool that's immeasurable and unending?
He's a thought. Logically, it makes sense.

coaches who leave a school generally don't come back

Archer> Mallveto.
Please try to remember how good LSU's defenses were from '85-'88.

I have thought of it. No way he would come back. I do think there are better DC's out there to nab. Of course, Archer being at NC state isn't helping his career.

I wouldn't have mixed feelings at all. I'd be pissed that we didn't use our resources to hire one of the best defensive coordinators in the country. Mike Archer is not one of them.

Anyone, including Tepper, is better than Mallveto. Please try to figure out why, in 20 years, Archer has failed to land a more prestigious job than defensive coordinator at Kentucky.

Because of what he did as a HC at LSU.

Just get Steve Brown from Kentucky
Posted on 11/3/08 at 10:46 pm to Rocket
You mean Lou Brown from the Toledo Mudhens?
Posted on 11/3/08 at 10:51 pm to PiscesTiger
Seriously, Kentucky has improved somewhat in defense since Brown took over.

They got cock slapped by UF but that's looking to be the trend with UF.

the game has changed alot since 85-88 like spread offenses and the guy they replaced him with at kentucky is doing a lot better job

I have never been impressed with any defense when he was the defensive Coord. I like the guy alot and think he would fit in well with Les.
