A few weeks ago, LM needed to hire a knockout OC to rejuvenate the fanbase/offense, being that he was in the last stages of his contract and needed to make a big move. Now, with mostly likely at least a few years extension on his contract, does this allow LM to experiment with BG and give him his 'shot' without really having anything to fear. I dread a 'BG test-run' much like the Co-DC's just because there is a little more wiggle room now.

I would just like to see a proven OC, using LSU's talent to score some freaking points and control games. If it does come down to BG, neither he nor LM have anything to lose.

Sure, his approval rating could drop quickly, but his job security has never been greater. What if his loyal brain says, 'hey, i'm good, let's give this nobody a chance'.

He's not going to experiment. He knows he's got a shot at the title this year.

God I hope you are correct, but everyone knows this would be typical CLM.

I hope he doesn't, I don't know much of BG past he was a WR coach for UF, but he has not impressed me so far. The WR's play this year was suspect at best.

Go get an OC that like a Pro Style power running game. We need some identity and if we get anything else Miles will continue to try to force them to be something they aren't and then we have no identity.

If he decides to promote a mediocre WR coach to OC, he should be fired before he signs that new contract.

Gonzo could've been calling the plays in the Cotton Bowl. He could be a pro-style genius!

Meyer, mullen, and bg created their version of the spread together. I doubt he's the oc in waiting, I think he just hated Meyer so much he had to leave.

One thing's for sure, there were MANY plays in that game that were non-existant throughout the year. Plays that were unpredictable and based on the strengths of the team. If that was BG's doing, kudos.

I was referring to the new contract he agreed to with LSU now.

I just can't fathom Gonzalez being worth a shite as an OC. He was turned down for the job at UF for freaking Addazio. If he's worth a crap he wouldn't have been beaten out by Addazio. Period.

Maybe a better way to say it, is that with the mixed sentiments from fans and the AD, I'm sure he was looking for some kind of contractual extention to ensure his seat was a little cooler next year.
