He was not offered in '07. Won't be this time either.

Stewart Mandel said he's 99% sure Miles will go to Michigan if offered.

I don't blame Miles for talking to Michigan if asked, what does he have to lose by talking? But if I am him, yes, emotionally, Michigan would be my 'dream' job, but then reality hits home- I am at LSU, just won 11 games, have a ton of talent to rival anyone in the country, a rich state of football talent, with no other major rival; if I go to Michigan, I have to rebuild from scratch, change the entire offense, and run the risk of failure. At LSU, I can keep this up for years, but at Michigan, I could be out of a job in 3 years like Rich Rod, not to mention, the losing, which would probabaly be a gimme the 1st couple of years, would not be something beneficial to my coaching legacy.

They didn't? I thought they did. In that case, sign Mullen up. I'd take him. Not sure about his recruiting front but he can coach for sure.

I couldn't understand how miles would be regarded as a "great hire" by the UM faithful. 6 weeks ago we were considering firing this guy and I'm sure UM people were well aware. On another note, how much does Les make now? And if LSU needs to make a counter-offer, how much could LSU/TAF afford?

Who has Patterson turned down that was a top job and made him their no. 1 target? ND ever go after him aggressively? LSU offers way more than tcu and most coaches wanna coach at the highest level. Contract extension is obv the biggest factor there tho

What is his buyout now?

I know he has said several times he loves it there. Maybe LSU already has someone like that lined up if Miles leaves. If we were to get Patterson, that would be a absolutely perfect fit. Especially since he is defensive minded and how proud LSU's tradition is on defense.

If we can get Patterson, I'd be absolutely ecstatic. I just don't know we can. It'd be fricking awesome though.

Sadly...he's gone. Good luck Les. Michigan, you got a good one.

I'd be interested to see what assistants stay if a new guy comes in. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to see Crowton/Stud/Ensminger gone. I wouldn't want to see Gonzo/Haley/Wilson/Cooper gone though. All four of those guys can recruit or coach or a combination of both...

If we get Patterson, nice knowing you Chavis.

ThInk patterson would be a lot more interested than ppl say. He just went undefeated and didn't get a shot at the title. Big east is still third tier conf. Wish I had confidence LSU would make him priority no 1

I agree, but if it was patterson, I trust him to build a team. He'd probably want some guys like that to help with recruiting too
