That interview definitely would make you think he's gone or at least very seriously thinking about it.

I agree. I don't know who we could get now. Patterson, Mullen and Fisher had contracts extended.

He wasn't offered in 2007.

You're fricking kidding me right? Not only is he a horrible coach but he'll have LSU on the death penalty soon enough.

I'm not a huge Miles fan but we need to retain him for next simply because this is a Saban situation all over again. We can't cherry pick who we want this late in the game. A lot of guys have already been gobbled up or signed extensions...

LSU would get another underwhelming Les Miles hire reaction right now, IMO. Just like when Saban dicked us, not many people were excited about the Miles hire.

Rocket we used to chat a lot during that last hire, and from all I have read the past few yrs, I doubt he did as well.

Unlike in 07 though, the state of La isnt suffering from Katrina, and the LSU program is in great shape.

It wont take 5 days to name a coach at LSU I am guessing. Have too much going for you guys.

If we DONT get Miles, I hope they look at Mike Singletary. How about that for musical chairs? heh

I agree...the "BOOOOOM" was a bit unnecessary. Like this is some SHOCKING development. It's well known UM wants Les.

I don't know, but I do think he'd make a better college coach than pro coach.

I don't think Michigan admits they want to interview Miles unless they are pretty sure he will accept the position. They do not want to be embarrassed again.

This is why they do the behind the scenes probing thru a search firm.

So, this announcement is very meaningful, IMHO

That is used so much in the wrong way.

My understanding of it is you have to understand the mid-western culture, and be one of the so called "good guys". IE this would be not a wife beater ala the fired Pitt coach.

Our President I heard doesnt just dislike JH for his comments, but the drunk driving as well. Moeller had to resign over it.

BTW that phrase started over Bo tossing the Basketball coach about to leave for another program in late 80s. "A Michigan man will coach Michigan".
