...so Les saying I have not been contacted by Michigan can be technically true and yet not at all, in substance.

Well this isn't good for Michigan. This means they're completely dedicating themselves to rebuilding again. They won't be competitive until 2014 at least.

But, Brandon continued, "If people would just stand back and understand, there are a few thousand attitudes out there in terms of what they think should happen. And I'm the guy who's paid to make that decision, and it's my responsibility, and it's not a vote. "… at the end of the day, I'm in possession of the information, I know the candidate pool, I'll be the one sitting down doing the interviewing, and ultimately I'm gonna make the best choice for Michigan, and I am not gonna be influenced by polling and all the wonderful suggestions I get."

This guy Brandon sounds like a major douche on an ego trip. Say what you want about Alleva but he knows how to STFU. Unless it comes to booing or littering.

I didn't take it as ego, I took it as "it's my fricking job and arse on the line, so let me do it."

You want everybody telling you how to do your job and then bitching all over the internet when you don't do what they think is best? They aren't the ones who could get fired if another shitty hire is made.

Uh, that's pretty much just the nature of college football. EVERY AD should understand that it just comes with the territory.

The guy is feeling the pressure.

Using Search Firm

totally retarded, in my humble opinion

generally speaking

Athletic directors at big-time colleges should have networks of coaches, agents, trusted advisors, they can turn to when it comes time to hire a coach. If an athletic director however is so clueless that he has to hire a frickin' job search headhunter to hire a coach, that program is screwed.

Re the rumors/reports about LSU going after Pelini, it gives me some comfort in Alleva and how he is handling the situation. Hear me out. I'm not necessarily saying you need to hire somebody immediately, but, with NSD around the corner, truth be told, the sooner the better. IF Miles leaves, and IF the reports about LSU contacting Pelini's agent are true, that indicates Alleva is doing his job, is being decisive, and making decisions. As fans, we have to let the folks that our school has hired as its decision-makers, make decisions. I would rather an AD who knows what he wants and goes after it, rather than a weak-arse guy who has to hire a bullshite search firm.

This is not November with months to go before signing date.

The idiots knew RR was out long before the bowl game.
