Michigan Appears To Be Making A Big Mistake...

...by allowing Carr to have any input into the new hire. We can be pretty sure he queered the deal (or at least attempted to do so) w/ Miles.
I'm getting the sense of some sort of power struggle up there, and if Bill Martin has any balls at all (questionable from what we've seen so far), he'd put an end to it by telling Carr: "You've retired...now butt out."
Not knowing all the facts, I'm sure I'm oversimplifying the situation, but this is the read I'm getting on the whole mess.

I agree. It kind of looks like the bad old days here with everybody and his brother from the BOS on down (and on up) sticking their nose in the coaching search.
Even the "ex players" and "friends of Miles" may end up doing more harm than good. A university has to at least give the appearance that the people sitting in the AD and president seats are in charge of the search.
To be honest I was worried about that happening again here if Miles left but (hopefully) that's been avoided.

If Miles were to leave for Michigan his reputation would be worse than Nick Saban's. Did any of you just see the segment on Mike and Mike. ESPN alone would bash him unmercifully. I really hope that this is all bs. I know in my mind if Miles did this now I would be sick.

everyone knew Carr was going to be a problem when he got his asst coaches two year deals last year
that is no small thing for a school to eat $1.3mm in asst coach salary and then have to pay another $1+mm for new asst coaches
