Maybe not signed, but Texas is a mess...

Let's look at how badly Texas has royally fricked this up:
First, there are too many chiefs at UT and they can't agree on anything. Their athletic department is a mess, and they are putting it all out for show.
Second, they are actively letting Strong twist in the wind (much like LSU did to Miles last season). I didn't like when LSU did it, and I don't like how UT is doing it. At least LSU kept things relatively mum last season before deciding to keep Miles.
Third, Texas leaked this information that they have nothing to do with. They have professionally disrespected Herman in a way only Texas can -- they think they hold all the cards, just like they always do. They are showing Texas cares about itself and only itself.
Finally, *if* Texas is waiting to pull the trigger on firing Strong until they have a new coach inked, and they are en route to meet with Herman's people, that is showing the nation that they do NOT have their coach's back and will sneak around and play dirty -- like they always do. They are too chicken shite to fire their coach then go get their guy.
tl;dr: Texas fricked this up, is showing the nation how dirty they are. Good luck getting a top notch coach, Texas -- money isn't everything.

Likely Hermans agent leaked it to force Texas' hand

So does that mean he really wants to go to TX?

If I'm Herman and I want to go to Texas, I focus on TX, not LSU. Texas will obviously pay. Herman has no need to leverage LSU for an offer TX will pay him big bucks for.

I really believe he has too much intelligence to still want to go to Texas. If he still wants that job, they deserve each other.

That would be my opinion, too. They are a mess. Why would you want to go there?

Add to all that Texas is in a conference that is noy nearly as strong as the SEC. That could be a huge consideration for Herman.
Also want to remind you that Coach O's only losses are to the two teams that will be in Atlanta.

Texas has an interim AD. Hard to hire a coach when he will not know who his boss will be.
