It’s more like the Archer situation where the players got their choice. We lost spurrier. Notre Dame loses Fickell or Campbell.
Again from what I hear Freeman is a special guy. So likely he gets it done.
But running a program is different than running a defense. Running the ND program is even more so.
The euphoria of walking into that locker Room and introducing him to his team was exciting. Archer got a similar reception , and a fabulous year one …. Then he , and we realized he was not up to the task.
