Has this bit of trivia been mentioned?
Arkansas state's first game next year is scheduled to be at Oregon.

Gus apparently made it a point to say this isn't just about the opportunity at Arky St., but about leaving Auburn.

quote:

A person close to Malzahn said that not only was the coach looking for a head-coaching opportunity but that he was "looking for a change" from Auburn and "looking to move onto something else."

Genius way to get his stock back up really.

Congrats for Gus. Glad to see him get his first head coaching job. He will be great as ASU.

I may have to actually travel to Jonesboro for the first time ever to watch them play.

The NWA hills are pretty nice, as well as some other things besides the Hogs. Not many will disagree. But nobody has a monopoly on perception and attitude.

New Phillip Marshall quote..
* Malzahn wanted badly to be a head coach. He was literally hours away from being named head coach at Kansas when suddenly Charlie Weiss got the job instead. He was the leading candidate early on at North Carolina. In both cases, the edited videotape of his wife's interview at church function played a major part in him being passed over. Is that fair? No, especially since it was severely edited by someone with no life and no conscience to make her look as bad as possible. But fair or not, it happened. *

quote:

@schadjoe:

"Told Malzahn willing to take the pay cut for chance to be happier and enjoy new situation." -------------- Seriously, I hope Gus, the Mrs, and the children are safely out of Lee Co. now
