So what make Lincoln Riley, who is totally unproven in the SEC and who consistently has always had a piss poor defense for his entire head coaching career, worth more than double than Lane Kiffin?
The “unproven in the SEC” schtick is just lame. LSU isn’t confined to hiring a proven SEC coach. Also, it will be a stipulation that Riley hire a proven DC. Apparently Lane hasn’t figured that part out yet.

Go head, explain that to me please.
You don’t want anyone to explain it to you. Your mind is already made up. Riley outperforms Kiffin in every metric related to being a Head Coach (win %, playoff appearances, conf titles, etc), and you still aren’t convinced. Kiffin is controversial and is generally recognized as immature from a public relations standpoint. He has baggage. And he’s on this crazy go for it on every 4th down mentality. Riley has none of those issues.
Your mind is made up, but it’s not because people can’t make a case for Riley over Kiffin. It’s because, for some reason, you like Kiffin more.

First of all, all the fans who believe in the pipe dream that Lincoln Riley would actually leave OU for LSU are exceedingly delusional people. In addition, prove to me that Lincoln Riley is worth double the value of Lane Kiffin. Either do that or STFU!

You can't compare people that way unless they have had the same exact experience and at the same exact time side by side. Thus, those kinds of evaluations are totally useless.

As far as program changing white whale it is definitely Lincoln Riley, because Oklahoma is already coming to thee SEC. So now you come to a conference where your teams has constantly been to outmatched against top SEC opponents. Now you have to move up a level in competition, and recruit against Texas A&M and Texas for Texas and Oklahoma recruits, so now you’re adding another major university A&M U are recruiting against. Now You you come to LSU Where are you are not only one of the top recruited states you are you are the only flagship university in your state, and it’s already been proven lock down your state you could field a good football team now throwing the name Lincoln Riley in recruiting you’ll be recruiting at the Alabama Georgia level because you’re not far behind now. He is going to attract the best defensive coaches out there because they could field a NFL defense with 17 to 22-year-olds and money is no object. Oklahoma’s defenses would be better if they had LSU athletes on defense so no one can say look at Oklahoma’s defense. And his offensive philosophy will attract the best up-and-coming OCs and he is smart enough on offense to know if his OC is full of shite. I think Riley could turn LSU into the next Alabama dynasty. If he’s content to stay in the college game with the resources he has At his disposal LSU could be at the top of the college football world for a while

So, you provide zero data to prove your point, dismiss the data that I provide, and base your entire opinion on “because I watch college football.” Like I said, you believe what you believe, and that’s all you’re going to believe.

He’s just gonna ignore everything you just said and then write a whole paragraph on the same things he’s posted. That’s how he works

So we're going to lure away Riley from a school that could match what we are offering him and has spent his entire HC career at by requiring he get a "proven" DC?
This board cracks me up.

Kiffin has more baggage amd is a snake
Really? What disqualifies Kiffin from becoming the next LSU head coach in your unhinged mind? Did he rape a female or a male? Did he slit someone's throat? Did he perpetrate a terror attack? Did he rob a bank? Did manage an illegal pyramid scheme? Indeed, what exactly did Kiffin do that it is so bad that it would preclude Scott Woodward from hiring him.
Uhm, of course, Kiffin left Tennessee after only one year to take the head coaching job at USC, which is where he cut his teeth in coaching. Nonetheless, I don't blame Kiffin one iota for escaping that train wreck in Tennessee.
Of course, he later was fired from USC in the middle of his fourth season because he lacked maturity and because of the extremely harsh sanctions that were placed on USC by the NCAA.
However, since then Lane Kiffin spent three years rehabilitating at Nick Saban's coaching rehabilitation clinic in Alabama while also being the OC over there, where he also led Alabama's offense to a Natty in 2015.
Then in 2016 he became the head coach of Florid Atlantic and parlayed that very successful head coaching run into his current much better gig at Ole Miss.
Then after taking over that train wreck in Oxford, MS he inherited, all Kiffin has done is transform that basket case into an SEC contender in less that two years.
So what baggage in particular are you talking about? I mean, as far as I can see, Lane Kiffin's baggage reflects on him very well.
Now if you are talking about Lane Kiffin trolling various people on Twitter, he does it all in good fun and the people he trolls all have a good laugh together. As Lane Kiffin is good friends with everyone he trolls.
So again, please explain your idiotic baggage comment and also, please, by all means, explain in detail how Lane Kiffin is a snake in your unhinged mind

From What I heard from an Oklahoma Source last night, they don’t believe Oklahoma can match what LSU is supposedly offering. Who knows tho
The Source was Oklahoman (Ryan Aber) Again Who knows tho.

Idk about him being a snake. But he IS an arse-clown. In fact I would prefer rehiring O over getting Kiffin. I have had the pleasure of observing him in person on several occasions and he is so much worse than it appears. I watched him literally pitch a hissy fit over a spilled glass of water at a banquet in front of 100s of people making the poor server cry while he cussed her up and down squealing like a 2 year old. I don't care how good a coach he is, he is a terrible, terrible human being. No thanks.

Yeah Kiffin is another “character” coach that looks stupid in my instances. Remember the pre game interview where he threw his headset at the camera saying “get ready for a show” and then instantly gets destroyed by Alabama… not a good look
And I wouldn’t be completely upset if he was the pick but to say he’s better or just as good as Riley is comical

don't forget Lanes incredibly bad record vs ranked opponents (7-20) in his career
Well there is an easy explanation for that. Indeed, when he took over Tennessee, that program was already a basket case. Then when he took over USC, that program had very severe sanctions placed on them by the NCAA. Then Florida Atlantic was only a group of five school. Hence, of course they were massacred by Ohio State when Lane coached them. Meanwhile, the Ole Miss team he took over in Oxford was also a basket case as well.
So considering the circumstances, how does his record against ranked opponents mean he is a bad coach? It doesn't!
Sure it looks bad if you ignore the circumstance. However, when you take the circumstances into consideration, it doesn't make him look bad at all.

I know this will be shocking to some on this board but most coaches at successful programs aren't going to bail because of a small salary difference. Maybe they don't come up to the LSU number but if he's already happy there and they give him a huge raise I doubt he leaves.
Posted on 11/10/21 at 4:39 pm to Micro12Tiger
Has Lane Kiffin been notified about your obsession with him? I mean, you really do love this man. It’s ok, though. I think you can learn to love Lincoln too. They both have that slender, offensive genius look to them. If you really try, you can love Riley too. Love him Micro… Love him.

I prefer Riley as well, but a little context is needed: Riley was gifted a job at Oklahoma when they were on top. They had gone 11-2 in back-to-back years in Stoops' final two seasons and had gone to the Orange and Sugar Bowls.
He was able to step right in to a powerhouse program. Riley has actually just continued what Stoops was doing, and has gone: 12-2, 12-2, 12-2, 9-2 in his first four years.
Kiffin took over a bad Tennessee program coming off a 5-7 season and the firing of Fulmer.
He then coached at USC, who had been hit with major NCAA penalties and a G5 program, FAU.
It's not a fair comparison. I think there are a lot of coaches who could have stepped into Oklahoma at that time and done the same thing.
Agree 100%.
Plus Liffey wouldn’t entertain other jobs later. He knows LSU is a destination job. And for the most part I like his antics. It relates to the players. He’s done a hell of a job at ole miss to be fair.
I still prefer Riley, but Kaifeng would be in my top 4. Ahead of many others that have been posted on this board. He is a talented play caller.
1 Riley
2 Aranda
3 Jimbo
4 kiffen
5 gundy
Edited. Forgot jimbo
