Which was Chicken's opinion. The whole thread was IF Mack retired last year, those would be the top names. Now Chicken is hearing Mack is out and Saban is still the choice.

What's so hard to understand about that?

just because he gives money back to the university doesn't mean he want's more money. I mean let's say that UT offers him 8mil to coach at Texas, how could he turn that down if Bama didn't counter offer.

Nope. Read the articles again. At no point did anyone actually interview Jimmy Sexton.

Not saying he's not behind a lot of this, but there is no direct quote from him. You are wrong.

I'll just leave this here again.

quote:

"You come to a crossroads and the expectations get so great, people get spoiled by success and there gets to be a lack of appreciation," Terry Saban said in an interview last week. "We're kind of there now."

I think anything over that and Bama shuts down and begins to look elsewhere.

I dont think its about money. Its about ego.

That being said, if Texas offered 10mil/year, how do you say no?

You guys have the comprehension level of first graders. I didn't say he couldn't get more money on his own. I said the Sexton angle would be more believable than Saban doesn't know this rumor exists.

texas offers something that no other school in the country can....real estate and oil field leases, mack brown has them and all coaches before him. they are still collecting off of that shite. bama cannot offer that, only texas can. It's not about base salary, its about incentives.

It would have to be more too to come out even. No state income tax in Texas.
