If y'all really believe that Saban is still in play, y'all are really delusional.
Also, before you say that the Alabama fans are melting and are here reading this because we are nervous; I'm here because I have an interest in who Texas hires. This coaching hire will change the landscape of college football. They seem like they definitely want to make a splash, and it could have a serious domino effect on other coaching positions.

UT will make an official offer and it will be substantially larger than 7 million a year

Yep.

Again, anyone that really feels Saban will take the Texas job, I'm open to a ban bet. Or sig, or avatar bet.

Chicken is online. I'd like to know his input...

Exactly.
Now, Saban might reject. But, if he does, he will be leaving $3 million a year to stay at Alabama.
At that point, Bama fans can truly say that Saban loves them!

This applies to a lot of coaches that have recently agreed to new deals. This list would include Saban, but it doesn't mean he is trying to hint at Saban either.

This is my "3 Option Theory"
1. Texas offers officially at 10yrs/$100 mill - Saban accepts it or,
2. Goes back to Alabama to get them to match the offer (and looks like a real jerk), or,
3. Rejects the Texas offer and leaves $3 mill a year sitting on the table proving his undying love for Alabama and its fans.
Which option seems the most logical?

I don't think y'all are crazy. I just don't agree that this points to him leaving any more than it did two days ago.

Preemptive melt.

Doc, why did you disappear last night? Why didn't you stick around to maintain that you knew this was all going according to plan last night when Saban's extension was announced?

Obviously.
I'm not even hoping for it at this point. I was fine with him staying at Alabama. Makes early November fun.
I am just seeing an angle here. I have no sources, no facts, nothing. Just an idea.
It makes sense. But, then again, I might be crazy, too.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am not saying that this is evidence that Saban IS leaving. I am simply saying that those who are saying he is off the board are likely wrong for all of the reasons listed above.
Still a great chance that Saban just says no and is happy to coach at Alabama for millions of dollars a year less than Texas would offer. If so, you will have your coach who loves you!
