LSU is a very, very, good program, but if the HC "search" didn't show you that LSU isn't a top 3 job I don't know what else to say.

The thing that gets annoying about outsiders saying that type of stuff is the reality is we could have gotten a big time coach. Our administration didn't try to get one. They were set on going cheap. Big difference from not being a great job and being unable to get interest from elite coaches. When your AD operates like ours does, it limits you.
But again, you and other fan bases come here to act like jerks. If y'all want to do that, at least know the facts

I think having a competent AD would show you otherwise. It's not that it's not a great job. It's that our AD is a joke.

This is very frustrating for lots of us bc we have seen the potential realized and we know we can draw elite coaches, but yes we have to pay to play. Our AD is an absolute joke who evidently never conducted a search and had no intention of paying to get an elite coach so here we are
That's the thing the bama people need to realize...saban came here from a power 5 school. Would he have left here for anything but the nfl? Absolutely not. We know we can get the best. It's a great job. The only thing that's changed is our leadership at the top. We have gone back to the good old boy days
Bama knows all about that but they act like insufferable pricks since saban wanted back into college and they happened to need a coach

I agree. I'll be forever grateful for what saban did here. It sucks that he had the nfl itch but that's how it goes sometimes. Nonetheless he did great for us. At that time we had strong leadership. Now not so much

Fair enough. I agree that we could have done a lot better and yes that's what most of us are upset about... The " search". Three months to find a coach and our entire search consisted of 3 guys. One of whom we had no intention of paying, the other wanted the texas job and everyone knew it and orgeron. Come on lmao
All most of us can do is laugh and hope for the best, but it's clear this isn't the same leadership that brought us nick saban

There will never be agreement across the board on this type of thing. As in, even if Bama is the top job in the nation, there will be a lot of people that say Texas is. It can also change quickly, just look at you saying Bama wasn't a top 3 job when Saban arrived, and see LSU being proclaimed as a top 3 job by all the ESPN talking heads(didn't G McElroy say it is the top job?) all season, then Alleva hired O. Just points to the fact that the AD controls it being a top job also, and our AD right now is incompetent.
