re: LSU job from an outside perspective

Best job in the world if youre winning. Too many distractions when you're not. From a rabid fanbase to a seemingly apathetic fan base more concerned with a coach that is more entertainment value than football coach. Always an underlying layer of politics, where there shouldn't be any. The program, despite an undefeated national championship season not that long ago, doesn't sell itself anymore.

You forgot the part about 3 of the last 4 coaches winning national championships and that Louisiana, per capita, has put more players in the NFL than any other state.

Unlike some of the other openings, like you basically mentioned, LSU still has won at a 70% of games in the last 3.5 seasons and won all their bowl games in that span. So it's not a huge rebuild like some of these other schools who seriously lack talent.
LSU won a title in 2003, won another in 2007, played for another in 2011, and had an unbelievable undefeated NC-winning team in 2019. That was only 6 years ago. And LSU was just in the SEC Championship Game 3 years ago.
You can win here and you can REALLY win here with the right commitment to recruiting and game day preparation. LSU is still LSU with Tiger Stadium, a winning tradition, and seriously talent rich state. Oh, and a lot of money to pay coaches.

No point in trying to have a reasonable conversation with him. He’s an Auburn fan, who’s team just got beat by a basketball school and he then chose to come preach to us about setting the bar high
