But With USC struggling and Texas possibly making a coaching change if CS doesn't keep them performing well, LSU could possibly have some competition for a great hire. Gonna be a crazy season for sure. I hope Alleva doesn't screw this up!

3 big time jobs could be opening that I could see:

Texas - If CS wins 9 his job is safe IMO. He had a great recruiting class last year and had a "signature" home win with the new offense, even if ND looks bad now

USC - I just don't see the new AD throwing in the towel on Helton 1 year after making him his first hire. That just looks terrible.

ND - Brian Kelly could be canned, but I don't think that's a top 10 job anymore IMO. I also think he gets another year.

I understand y'all are anxious and it's all still fresh, so there will be repeat threads aplenty between now and when the hire is finally made...

But come on man, this is like the 3rd thread on this exact same topic ON THE FRONT PAGE

Which is why it was important to get out ahead of everyone else.

Even if Kelly has a bad year, they will give him another year. They've done too well with him over the years to can him. They don't want to screw up and get another ty willing ham and Charlie weis

We have no clue what will open up. It is way too early. You don't see things like Sark's drinking coming sometimes.

Little early to say anything definitively.

Texas just lost to Cal, their "big" win is to a team that is 1-3 and just lost to Duke. Add to that they still have several loseable games on their schedule. I could easily see them making a move if it were for Herman. Doubt they'd fire Strong unless they had Herman locked up.

As for USCw, they are 1-3, have been embarrassed a couple of times, their HC had to address rumors that an o-lineman punched him in the face a practice. They aren't a given to make a change, but it wouldn't shock you if they did (again, similar to Texas, only if they were confident they had a solid replacement locked up - see Georgia from last season).

Texas definitely has the best chance to have an open position at HC

It doesn't matter who you guys get as coach. We know that and deep down so do you.

It isn't as if Bama doesn't have to play the best coaches in the country every year. I'm sure the Tide will be OK.
