Yea, USC had like absolutely no good athletes when Carroll got there. And I'm sure Carroll would win 7 SEC titles in a row because the Pac10 and the SEC are exactly the same.

Throw in Bob Stoops who has 4 losses. Is the SC and OK programs on decline. By the way, both SC and OK are programs with WAY, WAY more history of winning and pretiege than LSU. Turning around SC ??? It was almost unbelievable that the program went down. The city of LA has more NFL talent than LA and MS combined.

The Pac - 10 is no longer a weak conference. We'll see how good Pete and his staff are the next few seasons. Barkely's Jr and Sr years they will be good.

LSU seriously challenges for the SEC west
LSU looks like a well run and well coached team
LSU doesn't let WAC teams run up and down the field
LSU uses it's skill players correctly
LSU doesn't look confused and inept on offense
LSU gets rid of dumb coaches who can't coach
This is not too much to ask, it's process, not results. Doesn't mean LSU has to go undefeated and win the SEC every year, but we at least have to credibly challenge for this and look good doing it.

He should be if there were all of a sudden 3 or 4 coaches better than him in the conference. However, Carroll is still driving the best program in the conference and the upstart programs haven't passed them by yet...Miles has been passed by.

Carroll reminds me of Dale Brown-great collection of talent, rah rah guy, press loves him, sucks as a coach. Good assistants can make his team's better, but they always seem to underachieve.

You guys with the Pac 10 is such a weak conference argument are ridiculous. How many SEC teams have beaten Pete Carroll at USC? You guys want to throw Bob Stoops bad season out there. But once again, Carroll and Stoops are the guys that built those programs recent success. Nick Saban turned LSU into a national player, not Les Miles. Miles benefitted from Saban's left over program. 3 years after Saban left, the LSU program has truly become the Les Miles program, and it's filled with nothing but excuses on why we lose, or barely win games vs far inferior opponents (UW, Ms State, La Tech).
