LSU History Lesson. Players melted down to keep Archer after Arnsparger left.

I'm pretty sure Ruffin cried. It was a TOTAL player melt-down of historic jock-angst. Guys were having tantrums and holding their breath and making lame threats of impending doom. We all know how that one turned out.
First rule of hiring a coach-who the players want/do not want is irrelevant.

If they hire O this could truly set us back to the 90's. Horrible....

I remember that happening. It was a massive mistake. Bill Arnesparger recommended him to intentionally hurt LSU because we played UF yearly. It wrecked our program for over a decade.
We're about to make the same mistake.

Remember it well, some of the old tigers was showing a couple of big name coaches around but the current players won out.

Yeah. We passed on Steve Spurrier and Mike Shanahan, but at least the players were happy.
Archer became Hallman became a lost decade.
