A former Samford quarterback and son of that program's all-time winningest head coach, new Tulane chief of staff Chris Hatcher, Ty Hatcher is expected to join Kiffin's inaugural Tigers staff in "a top role that will do a little bit of everything for us, focused with the offensive staff, quarterbacks and tight ends" said a source with direct knowledge of the move. Sources added that Hatcher is expected to work very closely with LSU offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr.

Could be a great hire to develop the 2nd and 3rd string offenses…

Just what I was thinking. Kiffin building for the future, depth everywhere. He's staying for a bit

Apparently this guy has worked at Alabama, A&M, and others the last several years. Sounds like he's in high demand and Lane found an in with his dad taking a job just down the road at Tulane.

I played against Chris in high school. He was amazing as a player and coach at Valdosta State.

As a little boy, Ty would run around in a VSU uniform, and he could sling the ball really well for a little guy.

I had hoped he would come to VSU to play, but, oh well.
