It's only December 11, for crying out loud. The national championship game is still roughly four weeks away.

If this Miles-to-Michigan stuff is not true, then LSU and Miles need to quash the rumors NOW and not let them persist.

If this thing is still hanging around by tomorrow without any response from Les or LSU, then something is amiss. Otherwise, they would send some sort of swift response to kill the rumors.

Miles doesnt need to say anything.

ESPN is baiting and egging him on, hoping for another 'dramatic fiery press conference' so that they can use that to bash him for the next 3 weeks. They criticize him for reporting that he might leave...and they criticize him for explaningn that he's staying (Re: Mitch Albom on the sports reporters on Dec. 2nd)

So either way, Les Miles is going to be damned if he does and damned if he doesnt...so no need to give ESPN more fuel to add to their made up fire.

Exactly how many times does Miles have to respond to these rumors? It has already explicitly stated that he was going to be LSU head coach long term? What else would you like to hear?

If Miles leaves after all his pronouncements to the contrary..........he's going to make Saban look like a Saint in comparison.

He has. Doing it again would serve no purpose, as neither you nor anyone else still nursing this fantasy would be swayed from your delusion by anything he says or does.

If you show me one quote where he says he will not coach the Michigan Woverines next year, I will be happy.... not other words.. talking about lack of wiggle room... no offers.. I am happy... the words "I will not coach the Michigan Wolverines"... that is all that is needed

So you honestly think there's a chance he will coach both LSU and Michigan next year?

"I will be the coach at LSU next year." - LM.

You think he's going to coach both teams?

LSU has done all it can to put these rumors to rest. They just re-signed him.

I don't understand why it's ESPN's doing. The report came from the Detroit Free Press, did it not?

This is now on Mile's shoulders. He needs to come out with the truth.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he said in the brief interview (not the press conference) with the CBS chick right before the SECCG. She asked him, "are you going to Michigan?" and he said, "no, I'm going to be the coach at LSU next year."

At least that's how I thought I heard (and remembered) it. I was drinking fairly heavily that day, so maybe I misunderstood, but somebody's got to have that on tape to check it, right?

apparently not if he's talking with them the day after he signed his new deal.

Plus he has an out, because January is "next year"

Look what Saban has done to us. LSU fans are now so timid, it's sad.

What does a phone call have to do with him taking a new job? The jackasses who reported that don't even have the nerve to claim that it was actually about him taking the coaching job.

Hell, they could have been calling to apologize (which would make a HELL of a lot more sense than your speculation).

Word on other sites is that player's parents are reaching out, asking what's going on, etc.

Freaking ton of smoke here on this one, folks.
