The air raid systyem can adapt to the talent available to a coach. I think Leach would make it work at LSU and it would be damn scarry to watch.
If you know anything about football, you know it could work at LSU.
If you have the linemen and RB talent, along with a wb that other teams have to respect, it is almost impossible to defend. Can you imagine running that offense when your backs can get you 5 on 1st down? GEEZ!
2nd and 5 against 5*rb's, 5*wr's, 4*qb's, 5*OL, etc..!!!!!
T Tech wore teams out with just a couple of great players. CAn you imagine an SEC school like LSU's talent running it?
Hell, the short side option would work at that point!

Just to add to the drama, Craig James is my third cousin. He really acted like a bitch during that whole deal using his position at ESPN as a pulpit.

I dunno about that. The admin was all butt-hurt when he demanded respectable Big-12 HC pay after all those winning seasons and an 11-win season to go along with the BCS game that brought them a lot of money and national attention. They held the grudge and sided with some spoiled rich kid rather than their winningest head coach in terms of percentage.
if leach came here and killed it for the first 4 games, then we have a "down" offensive game, how long before we start hearing "miles is holding leach back"?

It's a guarantee after 2 consecutive 3-and-outs.
I wish we could be happy like Moo State fans. Those guys are much happier despite a shittier record and getting their asses beat by LSU.

How does Mike Leach fit with LSU?
I don't know the answer to this question, however, what WOULD concern me is the scenario of him coming in - having a couple of successful years then leaving for an HC job somewhere else. The coaching carousel is so cyclical that he would probably jump at another HC spot. Who could blame him either? Then we're on the market for another OC.
In a perfect world it'd be nice to have someone that wants to stick around long-term and enjoy continued success.

we could bring in Lincoln Riley as OC-in-waiting

Lincoln Riley is doing a tremendous job at ECU, another Air Raid young whipper snapper making a name for himself.

That's how most successful coaches are. The best ones are the extremely competitive and ambitious ones. One could hope that when he leaves, one of his former disciples could step in and do a similar job such as Art Briles. Not every top assistant can be like Chavis and just enjoy doing what he does.
