Could also pair McDaniels with Nick Caserio

As far as what's out there this is one of the most interesting to me.

If Riddick was any good at his job, wouldnt he currently be in a FO of a NFL team vs jabbering at the mouse ear?

He went to ESPN by choice

He helped build the playoff Eagles team that Chip inherited and then destroyed.

Even Jed knows he can't keep going firing his coach every single year

Well I guess it's a "low hanging fruit" type of job.

There's a frick ton of cap room and a lot of draft picks, you don't have to come in and tear anything down or eat a lot of bad deals. Plus you're not being forced on a coach or vice versa.

I believe Jed wants to win, just has no idea how. If he's not meddling it's a good situation.

McDaniels certainly has the making of a very good head coach, but going to SF would be a terrible decision for just about any coach. That position is going to require someone with a lot of clout.

If Gruden was such a good coach wouldn't he be coaching and not be at espn?

Why? The tearing down has already been done. Nowhere to go but up.

I've read that SF is at the bottom of McDaniels list. He is looking for strong and supportive ownership and front office.

If he goes, it would be with Cassario IMO. And they would probably sniff around a Jimmy Garrappolo trade

Funny bc I read the opposite & he likes the idea of a clean slate (no Brandon Marshall or Jay Cutler situation) to build the team he wants with a personel guy of his choosing.

It's not that Jed isn't supportive, he's just young and inexperienced as an owner.

Hell of an attempt at a gotcha but...
a) is he really that good of a coach? he fizzled out pretty damn fast after winning that SB with Dungy's players. kinda feels like a Les Miles situation
and
b) he makes a literal frickton of money calling MNF. why would ANYONE, i dont care how good of a coach they are, go back to 100+ hr weeks and all that stress when they can work 1 night a week and make plenty of scratch?

A. Yes he is.

B. I doubt Riddick gets paid much more than he's making now anyway

Gruden is very overrated as a coach. Best part about being on TV is everyone forgets your faults and remembers your high points.

I hate the douchbag. Glad he's far away from Denver now. He nearly dismantled the entire franchise during his time there. Maybe he has learned to be a better head coach by now, just don't give him GM type decisions.

Just to recap what he did in Denver:

1) Attempted to trade Jay Cutler for Matt Cassell
2) Traded Jay Cutler to Chicago
3) Traded Brandon Marshall to Miami
4) Traded Peyton Hillis to Cleveland
5) Drafted Tim Tebow in the 1st round of the NFL Draft
6) Traded a 1st round pick to move up in the draft to select Alphonso Smith in the 2nd round, who lasted 1 season in Denver
7) Traded Tony Sheffler to Detroit
8) Ran off Mike Nolan, who left for Miami

Well, and there's more here:

Guy is just a condescending little prick, IYAM.

You so mad because your ownership gave a kid 30s coach with a couple coordinating year experience the keys to the entire castle and were suprised when he made some drastic mistakes

Whoever hires him will be getting a much different guy than you saw in Denver

I'll finish this for you.

I'm so mad that Josh McDaniels nearly ruined one of the best franchises in the NFL. That's it.

If they let him JUST coach, maybe, it's possible. They better hire a General Manager to do his job.
