You are correct, sir. But why is the speculation so sinister. Could it be that as a loving alum, Miles felt compelled to clear the air with UM, to wish them well, and when asked, he offered his opinion on possible candidates. Instead, a steady stream of bashing has evolved based on no evidence. A phone call in itself, does not equal to making himself a candidate.

"Sinister"?

To speculate that Miles speaking to the U of M President and AD was about the possibility of Miles being interested in the job? Is that really sinister speculation? Or is it common sense?

To speculate is normal. To bash based on that speculation is abhorant. Change "sinister" to "slanderous" if you like.
