Les Miles' handling of the coaching changes

IMHO Coach Miles has handled the coaching changes with the class and dignity. After the end of last year we lost our DC to one of the most coveted head coaching positions in all of college football, additionally Coach Miles himself had to renegotiate his own contract, and we were in the midst of a change in administration as Skip retired and Joe Alleva took over. Any decision to hire a new DC last year would have been rushed. Miles asked two individuals to step into the position in less than desirable circumstances and ensured they were not blindsided by the fan-base backlash and secured desirable employment elsewhere.
All in all, Coach Miles is building upon his reputation for being a great coach for whom to play and work.

I think he has definitley handled it the way things should be handled. He has saved face for everyone involved. I have always thought Miles was a class act and once again he has proven it in my opinion.

We can't assess Miles's handling of the coaching changes until he's made hires, and even then we'll need at least a season to evaluate the outcome.

we can assess his handling of the departure of Peveto which was handled very well...as for mallory and the incoming coaches I agree with your point.
However, it is reassuring for players and coaches to know that come nut cuttin time, Coach Miles will not throw subordinates or players under the bus

class and dignity are not utterly meaningless, a good reputation among peers and abroad carry benefits which can translate into success on the field.
