Someone big in UM athletic dept could very easily own a house in savannah, just saying.

Do you think maybe they are there for Crowton?

Am I the only a-hole who could care less if he leaves? I'm excited. Hope they take him tonight.
Though it would be hilarious if the next guy actually retains Crowton. That would be epic meltdown.

This doesn't make much more sense, seeing as he doesn't have any UM ties I can see...
But Jack Del Rio is back in town, saw him last night at DiGiulio's. Maybe they're hunting him down for some reason?
Just throwing out other ideas....this all looks pretty dumb and poorly timed

So what are the best theories presented so far in this thread?
I mean, it seems like Les is in Dallas, his family is probably with him, and also anyone worth talking to at LSU (AD, etc) would be at the Cotton Bowl, too.
Who exactly is in Baton Rouge that Michigan would want to talk to?

rue. les doesnt even get to use hurricane fricking Katrina; Trent gets a pat on the head.

But you don't understand! Les calls the plays! Crowton hasn't had his shot.

Les appears to have won a sec championship where only the top 2 teams get in as well as a national championship whereas Trent appears to not win

One appears to be a great coach and the other actually is.
Nice.

Best theories I can think of are recruits but it is a dead period so I don't know what that means for in home visits and what not... And just flying in early and waiting for Les to return from the game..

No one today, but my guess is that some people from UM got off the plane and are spending the next few days in Baton Rouge and plan on talking to Les Saturday or Sunday about the job.

Both are good theories. Thanks.
The recruiting dead period is over, fwiw. It ended 01/03. So that explanation could fit.
I find the other scenario more likely. Les and co. should be home by Sunday, maybe even Saturday. Perhaps they are planning on spending the night and talking to Les tomorrow evening.

George Bass agreed to pay for the UM plane to land in BR in exchange for the fees he will get from LSU for extorting the university into a contract extension.

I know you mean this as a joke, but the timing of this really pisses me off. Would it have hurt them to fly that damn thing into BR tomorrow? Our team has a game tonight.
Bastards.
