LSU and UF are saying it's a done deal, that's the bottom line.

I wouldn’t think so either but I wouldn’t be shocked

If the report is true he has until the 28th, so probably let him coach the game then demanded the answer to prepare for the playoff properly

Idk why they’d run that story if it didn’t have any truth to it

When Dellinger or Thamel or anyone with any real skins on the wall says it, Then I'll believe. "Insiders" on both sides have been saying this for over a week. Before the 2 visits even took place. They're not the sources that matter.

In summation, there's a reason why we can't have nice things in Louisiana. We typically have the stupidest mfrs possible in positions of power.

Truest statement in the thread, but many dont want to acknowledge it .

We are not going to land the #1 hottest coaching candidate in the Land, imo because certain people in power were incapable of just shutting the hell up and staying out the way .. our only hope is to land a second tier candidate who ends up being a diamond in the rough .. would not be terrible if that happens, but it didnt have to be this way for LSU .

There's a good chance we win big without having the #1 hottest coach, I don't understand why you people have to keep dredging this fricking Landry stuff up, let it go, we'll be alright.

What better opportunity to go to the NFL than now, to the biggest media market in the world, with a qb he has a relationship with?

That organization is cheap as shite, they’re not paying north of $10. Daboll was making $5m.

Nothing, because there's nothing solid to report.

Re-read my post.. then tell me that’s not EXACTLY what i said .. two things can be true: We can whiff on getting what many consider to be the best coach available, due to terrible leadership and incompetence .. AND we can back into a not-so-hot coach who turns out to be good .

I get it, reading is difficult for you- maybe English is not your first language .

If youre gonna quote me and direct your comment at me- then next time maybe try not regurgitating *exactly* the same thing i said and act like you are pushing back or something .. it’s really not that hard .

but you know that is the “right thing to do” from a moral standpoint.

Of course it is. But its college football coaches. They have become more money lecheries than crack whores after a fix. We can all sit here and blame an elite college kid from a lower class family leaving one school for a few hundred thousand at another and say its ruining college football when, a few months later, his coach leaves a $10M annual guaranteed salary for a few million guaranteed more.

When Bill Arnsparger left LSU in 1987 to become AD at Florida, he had been named SEC coach of the year twice in his three years. He was making a base salary of $80K and a total of $150K with radio, tv deals. Sure, it was 1985, it was a lot of money right? He was in the top 20 of coaches' salaries, he was loaded right? Hell, the average salary for an American male was only $27K that year.

We now have a coach (coaches?) on the verge of making $15M per year, 100 times more than a well paid elite coach made 40 years ago. To match that increase, the average male worker in the US today would need tp make $2.7M a year.

With that much money involved, a coaches morals have come cheap for quite some time.

Maybe, maybe not, but i think that no one knows for certain right now. That goes for Lane himself. The Florida and LSU were a brazen attempt to have someone to up their offer. And let's kid ourselves, someone has increased offer because of it.

I see people saying that he wouldn't use his family as a ploy. Getting treated like royalty for an afternoon isn't exactly disrespectful

If the deal was actually done, better insiders than the guys on tigerdroggings or whatever Florida's message board is called, woulduld have run with the story by now.

The only thing we know for sure is that lane's family visited both florida and lsu and that OM gave him a deadline.

If LSU hires him, he'll do this to them within 4 years. He'll flirt with NFL jobs, University of Texas, Alabama, etc.
LSU fans stupidly believe once he comes here he'll be happy, satisfied, and never wish to leave. It's being stupid on their part. You can't fix stupid.
