What's shitty, if you're a coach, is the yearly schedule. There's no way to consider other jobs if you're having a good year (playoff contention) because of the timeline of early signing day, CFP schedule, portal window, etc.
If you're an up and coming coach, or one looking to make a final big leap, you have to choose:(1) miss a big job opportunity that you've been waiting for that may never come again, or (2) make the move and set aside a great season.
