Would have better success at OU in the SEC than A&M.

I can’t imagine OU is liking what they’re seeing from Venables. He may get some time to clean up the shite show Riley left when he took a lot of the rest with him, but I can see Lane there in 2024 or 2025.

He only got OM into the Top 10 in Year 2 and is holding right now too.
Great coach and if he had better resources and talent - Wtfreak out.

A&M is a good gig and Kiffin would do well there.

I'm certainly biased, but Kiffin strikes me as the rare type that might specifically want the drama of being the HC at Auburn. I think he wants to be a part of the IB and go head to head with Kirby/Saban. That might not be smart, but he wants to throw shade on Twitter at Saban and that's way more interesting at Auburn.

A&M in many ways is a smarter play than Auburn - lots of money, perhaps more reasonable expectations, etc. But it's much more boring than Auburn and Kiffin seems like the type who might actually care about that.

Rhule seems like an A&M type. If A&M decides to wait another year on Jimbo, he'd be in a good position to hold out for that job.

A@M has a 1.5 BILLION endowment and you say they can`t
afford to get rid of him. They can`t afford not to.Each
SEC school gets arround 50 mill or more every year money is
no object. Lane would be great and as an LSU fan I like
our chances against A@M as history indicates.
