May not be 100 % accurate on the numbers. It takes ten years to vest and 25 to get full retirement…the actual percentage you get is based on years of service and it may take like 18-20 to get to 50%. Then again, Alabama does let you buy years you were eligible in other states. So he may be able to get 25 in which case that’s more like 80%
Still, he’s at a point where he’ll get a nice check.

What is the number of years you must put in to qualify for a state pension in Alabama? Dont think its forty years.

If it is like Mississippi, you can draw a percentage check after 10 years, but need 25 to get full retirement . He has his 10 now
