I looked at his staff at VT and it does not look like he has many if any position coaches that he brought from Memphis. Meaning he would probably keep the whole Defensive staff and key position coaches on offense like juluka and criag which helps with recruiting.

No reason to think he would but he was mentioned last year and he did a good job at Memphis and now he it doing good things ato VT.

I think this hire could come out of left field like Saban did Backnow in 2000.

How? VT is a better school, better state, amazing recruiting region, and an admin that views their coaches as long term hires. The last point is very important for assistants.
