not true, though I would prefer a DC with a more aggressive scheme. The D should be improved next year as they'll have had more time with Chavis.
I wouldn't mind a more aggressive D either. That said I hope he stays. What he brings is an above average D and (I thought) stability to the DC position. He was with Fulmer forever I was hoping he would have a similar run here.

Seems crazy he would leave after
one year.

Everything I've ever heard is that he's a great guy to work for for the most part. Everyone that has left the staff has either left for a promotion or "encouraged" to find other employment. Has anyone ever left for a lateral move?

i meant between Miles and Chavis. Disagreements over how to run practice. I know it's Miles' team but Chavis knows whats best for HIS defense.

Billy Gonzales was quoted in a recent article just how wonderful a person Miles is and how he'll be great to work for...

quote:

"I think it was an opportunity for me — a great opportunity," he said. "I coached with coach Studrawa before. He's told me a lot of times what type of guy coach Miles is. It says a lot about him."

Meyer stays very involved with Florida's offense and operates as a virtual offensive coordinator, while Miles is more of a CEO, usually letting his coordinators coordinate. He is known as very easy to work with.

"In the six days that I've been here, boy, I tell you what, I respect him like no other," Gonzales said of Miles. "He's a great man. He gets across what he wants to get across. He's to the point. He's clear, concise and direct, and I admire that about him."

Gonzales also knows Jacksonville Jaguar offensive assistant Todd Monken, who was LSU's passing game coordinator in 2005 and 2006 with Miles and offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher.

"I've known coaches on this staff," Gonzales said.

Could be. I'm not the most connected guy in the world but I haven't seen anything concrete on this rift between miles and chavis.

Jack Del Rio too. I doubt he makes a move to LSU unless its a HC job though...assuming he gets fired.

Holy shite

you really think Del Rio will take a college DC job if he gets fired?

The height of conceit. There are people who really think this way.

He's only been in the NFL one year.
Plus, I wouldn't want him. He's recklessly aggressive.

he's not really aggressive as much as he hates zone coverage

what else are you going to do with the other 7 defenders?
