Just considering a possibility regarding Norman's location

Distance between Baton Rouge and Norman is 600 miles. Distance between Norman and Ames, IA is 569 miles. Perhaps Woody WANTS us to think he's meeting with Riley and is actually meeting Matt Campbell.

Nah that's a bad way to sell the hire to the fanbase. You set them up for disappointment hinting at lincoln only to hire Campbell, and I think Matt's a great coach who would do well here

Exactly. Lincoln is too big a name to be the smoke screen. Would just set everyone up for disappointment

Does super philosophical Dave Aranda seem to you like someone who'd be butthurt about that? If Riley doesn't get the job then Aranda will still be on the first plane to BR and thankful for the gig of a lifetime
