RR will be coach at Mich next year, per their athletic director.

Isn't their AD retiring this year? If so, does it really matter what he is saying?

By the time the new AD is in, they would of already had to of had a new coach picked. They don't want this AD to pick a coach that the new AD won't like or feel comfortable with. Thats the only thing keeping Rich Rod as the coach of Michigan right now.

Gotcha, so Rich Rod will most likely be the coach of Michigan next year?

Yeah, he gets a 3rd year by default because of the AD situation.

Maybe cooler heads recognize how little talent was on the team when he showed up for work.

I don't think he fits well at Mich, but how are people saying he has a shot at being fired after TWO YEARS. TWO YEARS? He has to basically get entirely new personnel to even remotely fit his system. See how it goes next year.

One thing about Rich Rod is that he inherited a Michigan team that beat a Florida team we barely beat at home in 2007. Michigan wasn't that bad when he started. They were much better than last place in the Big 10 like they are now.
What do I know though? It'll be interested to see how it all unfolds.

Losing Ryan Mallet was devasting for UM, but he new he would not play in RR's system.
