Thanks for your in depth analysis of why he would not be a good candidate for LSU

Agreed. In the two years before becoming the coach Tulane had a combined record of 23-5.

2022: 12-2
2023: 11-3

His first year in 2024 he went 9-5.

Well, there's that then. Draconian has spoken so expect Sumrall to be announced next week.

He acts like a travel ball coach.

If Auburn is planning on announcing a coach after the Iron Bowl, I'm guessing he's their target. Makes sense in a lot of ways, but in order for it to work, they gotta give him significant resources. And have the backing of the boosters unlike when they got Harsin or it won't work.

Feels right for Auburn, for some reason.

You would be very lucky to hire sumrall, he would have you back at the top of college football within two years, he's a saban clone who wins every where he's been and doesn't take shite from anyone. If he goes to auburn, they will be top ten in two years. He is a home run hire , but you guys are too dumb to realize it.

I remember this exact quote was used on LSU for not hiring Napier….

Jon is the best choice available and its not close. We will be losing to Auburn regularly in the future. Will be just like when we hired Archer instead of Spurrier. TAF + BOS = POS.

No you don’t. Troy won 5 games in two seasons. Sumrall wins 2 conference championships. Goes to Tulane and has to deal with 60 players leaving after Fritz left and Fritz’s assistants recruiting against him. Went 9-5 with a freshman quarterback back who goes to Duke. And is better this year. He isn’t close to SB Billy. Is he ready for Auburn or LSU? Probably not, but you have to jump in the deep end at some point.
