.540 isn't bad in the NFL. Jimmy Johnson has a .567 win % and won 2 Super Bowls. Chuck Noll has a .571 win % and won 4 Super Bowls as HC.

Ouch, OP got dressed down in his own thread.

No. You losers are glossing over the fact he has no college experience, and barely broke 500 in the NFL. Oh, and was fired twice.

You are a kid with talent, Jon walks in with his ring and after you have watched him on MNF for years. Yeah that's a hard pass!

And he did it with his own players at Oakland then beat his own players with Dungy's guy in Tampa

ETA: as far as college goes, he WOULD be a movie star hire, and kids would flock to him at first and keep coming if he wins. He would assemble a good staff and let them coach their positions.

The vast majority of head coaches in the NFL are very close to a .500 win % overall.

Going 10-6 is a good season in the NFL, that will get you the playoffs most of the time and it's just .625. 9-7 also can make the playoffs occasionally, just .562

In the NFL you don't get all the cupcake games college coaches get that inflate their win %.

Imagine Gruden asking Peyton Manning to help snag a QB recruit. That would be hard to beat. I personally think Gruden would kill it at UT. Not sure where all the "Gruden will fail" as a coach is coming from. So what if he's been off the field for a decade or so. He'll have the resources to get some of the best assistants in the game. I hope UT gets him. It will make TSIO fun again.
