Jimbo to West Virginia?

Saban is not the only West Virginia native out there. Jimbo Fisher was the top candidate among their fans to replace RR when they all thought he was going to Alabama.
I know he is the heir apparent to replace Bowden, but Diddy is apparently in no hurry to retire. He's making 2 mil a year to be a figure-head. Why retire?

Jimbo has his dream job lined up.

Jimbo will be running the team and Bowden will retire once everything is in place for him to do so. I think Fla State will be back to a high level in the ACC next year. If that happens then Bowden will retire and be some type of "consultant" for a while kind of like Skip is going to do with the new AD. This is just my guess!

FSU >>>> West Virginia job/program-wise.

Who would leave FSU for WVU?

Nobody would leave FSU for WVU.
I'd like to say, though, that Fisher is more then likely going to get run out of town if he doesn't have immediate success.
Programs live under the ghosts of their former coaches more often then not.

Maybe, have they finished that contract with FSU?

He's supposed to take over for Bowden whenever he steps down, whenever that is.

No one would leave HC at FSU for HC at WVU. However, Jimbo is not the HC at FSU. He probably will be one day, but they left themselves an out in the contract. It's not guaranteed. If he got the feeling Diddy could linger for a few years, he may consider it.
