Still, to really succeed his offense needs great players in the skill positions.
We have that annually in spades.

and an NFL QB.
He has had 1 NFL QB. The other QBs he coached up so well he tricked the NFL into drafting them in the first round and they flamed out.

but your first sentence illustrates that even his fans know Jimbo isn't Saban or Meyer.
You are just proving my point.
Its like like saying I know Jordan Spieth or whoever isn't Tiger Woods. I don't think people truly appreciate just how incredible a run Saban is on just like they didn't get it with Woods. They think because LSU has all this NFL talent they should do the same and not doing so is a "failure". Only Miami in the mid 80s-90s was close to what Bama is doing and they had 4 coaches win 5 titles. Saban has 5 by himself.

so you're argument is that Les Miles didn't lose to "lesser" teams?

I don't see him pulling off at LSU what Urban has at Ohio. St. That's what I was responding to

Because I'm not necessarily disagreeing with it. The first thing I typed in this thread was that Jimbo would not be a bad hire. I simply pointed out that he has shown you he isn't Saban or Meyer, while with a Herman or Fuente or Fleck that little spark of optimism they could be the next household name, however small the chance, is still there.
It's the same appreciation for how great Saban and Meyer are that leads me to believe we could do much, much worse than Orgeron.

2014- 13-1 (12-0 reg season)
2015- 10-3
Jimbo's not coaching this year? I wondered why FSU sucked. Are they still ranked? Probably not since they are 5-3 and 2-3 ACC.

Urban Meyer was 4-5 in his last 9 games at Florida.
He's now in his 5th season at Ohio State and has a grand total of 5 losses since he took over the job.
I could see Jimbo mimicking this pattern if he came to LSU. Sometimes, you just need a change - and with the in state talent and resources at LSU, I think he would be set up for a lot of success.
Really, Coach O was at Ole Miss 10 years ago and then went 6-2 as the USC head coach and is 3-0 at LSU. Maybe he just needs a change also. With the in state talent and resources at LSU, I think he would be set up for a lot of success.

Did you not read my post? That is what I said and asked you to prove me wrong. You asked what coach doesn't lose to lesser teams. I answered you and challenged you to do research and challenge me. Are you not up to the task because you know it won't happen?

They have a freshman QB, it happens...if Jimbo is at FSU next year, they win 11 games minimum.

Again, interim head coach of someone else's program is not even remotely close to being in charge of your own program.
They are different jobs. Period.

Same could be said for any coach. So why would we not prefer one that has proven to be an elite head coach over one that was historically bad in our own division?
You're absolutely blind to this situation. Its unreal. You think Herman is going to get fired by Houston and Orgeron is better than Jimbo fricking Fisher. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Seriously man. This tiger ree guy will do ANYTHING to make O look good. Anyone who disagrees with him is a woman and idiot, iho.

I did not call anybody any names in this thread. I also did not even post opinion that was not preceded by a fact. I did not post one thing about Jimbo that was not a fact that anybody can't see for themselves by going to ESPN. He is 5-3, 2-3 in the ACC.
Three of his five wins this year were against Charleston Southern, USF and Wake Forest. The other two were a close win against Ole Miss and a 20-19 against a 4-4 Miami. Yeah, this guy can beat Alabama every year. To me there is a big difference between Les Miles and Jimbo Fisher.

Me too. Jimbo knows how to coordinate an offense and coach qbs.

...sarcasm is not fact. They haven't even played head to head. So you really don't know for sure.
Eta so les proved he couldn't do it 4 years in a row, but the guy who hasn't had a shot can't do it either? I don't understand.

Don't worry about it. Since Jimbo is 5-3, 2-3 ACC you won't need to even think about it for a couple, few years if then.

I'm more focused on O Saturday. Will tell us a lot about how good this team is under him. I expect it to be a good high energy game.
