It's clear there is a leadership problem at Tennessee

The Vols need someone with pizzazz, guile, the true makeup of greatness. It all starts at the top of the athletic department. Negotiations be damned, they need someone who can see through the muck and the mire, and identify the man for the job simply because said man wants said job.
Make the call, Tennessee.
Make...the call.

Make...the call.

The last football coach Alleva hired went 9-3 in his first season.
Think about it.

I can't really blame Currie here. You have an issue when you have Manning, legislatures, etc. involved in the search and hiring. The process should be:
1. Athletic Director has final say. He needs to find out what he's able to put on a contract before starting the process. All of that should be unofficially pre-approved by whatever board actually has to vote.
2. AD hires a search firm.
3. Search firm provides AD with candidates and their requirements.
4. You pick your #1, you interview, you offer and get a contract signed.
5. Board approves your hire.
The problem is that everyone at Tennessee that has ever worn Orange is involved with this. So, Currie has almost zero actual authority.

Obvious hire is obvious for UTK. #AlleVols

Fulmer is going to be interim AD and may well appoint himself as the interim coach. Wouldn't be a shock at all.

arkansas state where his son plays, but his son is a SR now, so ole Troop may be looking to move to a real spot where the money is better. he wasn't paid great at Ark St, but he had $500K from AU so that plus his ASU salary was still solid.

I agree. It appears he's had to contend with various factions within the UT sphere of influence.
