My aubie pal emailed me he had a dream that Chiz announed Stoops the new DC in WWE fashion. Said Chiz had the mic and Troop and Lupe were at the top of the runway doing the wobble. Then Stoops busted through a sign and joined in.
I wish there was some way this could actually happen.

Should the seven-figure offer be extended, which is rumored to be in the range of range of $1.1 to $1.2 million, it is expected that Stoops would accept the position.
As of today, Auburn is looking to replace both coordinators. Former defensive coordinator Ted Roof left his post last week to take the same position at UCF. And on Tuesday night, offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn made a surprising move by accepting the head coach spot at Arkansas State. Malzahn was making $1.3 million per year as Auburn's offensive coordinator.
In addition to the possible offer at Auburn, Warchant.com has learned that an opportunity with another team could also be in the works and rival the level of the Auburn job. There were no details on whether the job was a head coaching position or another coordinator position.

Welcome to how LSU fans felt nearly 3 years ago when we wanted Crowton gone and he got to stick around for another 2 years.

It's not like jobs that cost 1.2 million get done really fast, I'd still be happy with Joe Whitt Jr. Stoops isn't worth 1.2 or 1.3 million.

Yeah, I found this a little odd. He may be a good DC, but giving a coordinator near HC money is just silly.

Ron Cooper has also been mentioned....

Anyway, it sounds like if Stoops doesn't get the Pitt job he'll be at Auburn.

I don't know why. I tried to tell you this wasn't happening today (or possibly at all).
